KOWS RADIO OCCIDENTAL 107.3 FM

KOWS 107.3 is a community radio station serving the “Kindom of Occidental and West Sonoma" county. KOWS began broadcasting in May 2007 with an eclectic blend of recorded and in-studio live music, discussion and public affairs shows — all produced by local volunteers.

The station is licensed under the FCC's "low-power" FM service. While the "effective radiated power" is 100 watts, the power at the transmitter is only 3 watts. The signal can be heard quite well in Occidental, Freestone, Camp Meeker, and Graton. Due to the local geography, coverage in Sebastopol, Forestville, Fulton, Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park is dependent on your exact position and whether you have a line-of-sight to the transmitter. However, about 2/3 of Santa Rosa can receive the station quite well. The station is researching ways of expanding and strengthening our signal, which is subject to FCC regulations.

The KOWS studios have mooved. Just down the street to a new building in downtown Occidental. The new building has handicap access and has more space for our programmers and guests.
